1. Information We Collect
When you use Divit, we collect the following information:
- Name/Nickname: The name you provide when creating or joining a session
- Payment Handles: Your Venmo username, Cash App tag, or PayPal.me link (only if you choose to provide them)
- Receipt Images: Photos of receipts you upload for AI parsing
- Session Data: Items, prices, and how the bill is split among participants
- Account Information: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo
2. How We Use Your Information
- Receipt Parsing: We send receipt images to an AI service (OpenRouter) to extract item names and prices
- Bill Splitting: We use session data to calculate how much each person owes
- Payment Links: We use your payment handles to generate deep links for Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal
- Account Features: If signed in, we save your preferences and session history
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited ways:
- AI Processing: Receipt images are sent to OpenRouter for text extraction
- Session Participants: Other people in your session can see your name and payment handles
- Firebase: We use Google Firebase to store session data securely
4. Data Retention
Active session data is stored temporarily during the session. Closed sessions are archived and may be deleted after 30 days. Receipt images are processed immediately and not stored permanently.
5. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Firebase security rules, and anonymous authentication for users who don't sign in.
